![]() ![]() There are no functionality problems, though. Clicking "Later" results in me seeing the offer every time I start the app.īasically while this works well for what it advertises, it feels like a Panther app that's not quite at home on Leopard in many senses. Mac users like standard toolbars, palettes, HUDs, etc.Īlso, I do not like being bugged to consider purchasing their Business Pack of graphics every time I start my PAID, REGISTERED app as of v5.1.2. perhaps the devs should take a look at what others are doing for a little inspiration. Other apps perform similar on-screen layout functions with a much better "feel". After using many beautiful Mac apps over the past several years, this feels like a return to Windows shareware in terms of UI appeal. Several parts of it look visually broken in Leopard, with random rectangles and shading scattered around the window. I appreciate the effort to link into the iLife suite. It performs that function well, burning the label to a disc in my Pioneer external drive with no significant problems. I purchased it shortly after purchasing a LightScribe writer, because as far as I know it is the only non-brand-specific means of creating a full-face graphical label on a LightScribe disc. My first experience with DiscLabel was with version 5.1. (Exporting editable designs into a common interchange format would be ideal.)Įven with the shortcomings, I find myself returning to DiscLabel whenever I need to print labels onto optical media. ![]() One item I would wish for, is the ability to save or export designs for archiving and exchange with others. If I had needed them, it would have been a huge inconvenience to repeat the work. ![]() One strange bit of behaviour I experienced with it, was when upgrading to a newer version, the colours of previously saved designs were inverted/corrupted.įortunately I didn't need those designs any more. Without any detailed information about why the other reviewers find this software doesn't meet their expectations, I can't comment on their reviews in any meaningful way.Īs I mentioned earlier, DiscLabel isn't perfect. I have used a few other CD/DVD labelling applications, and they all required me to endlessly tweak and adjust the settings when using the standard templates that were supposed to match various label templates, and even when printing directly onto discs. The version from their website will print the word DEMO.I'm one user who has actually found DiscLabel to be a pretty usable piece of software.Īlthough it has shortcomings and limitations, those are more than made up by the accuracy of the built-in templates. ![]() You must use the DiscLabel version included on the Lightscribe CD from OWC. Now you should be able to successfully install the fully supported and functioning version of DiscLabel from your OWC Lightscribe Bundle disc included with your new Lightscribe enabled optical drive. Empty the Trash to remove both the DiscLabel folder and App from your Mac. Now open your 'Applications' folder and drag/move DiscLabel to the Trash.ģ. Move the following DiscLabel folder to the Trash: MacintoshHD > Library > Application Support > DiscLabel.Ģ. If your Mac has a version of DiscLabel installed that is later than v5.2.1, and DiscLabel puts "Demo" on your label, follow the instructions below:ġ. Why is the word "Demo" appearing on my disc labels? You MUST use an USB connection when trying to burn the image on the Lightscribe side of the disc. You can use any connection when burning on the data side of the disc.Ģ. The Lightscribe drivers do not allow for Lightscribe functionality via firewire or eSATA. Why doesn't DiscLabel work with my Firewire connection? Select your preferred country / region: Experience local shipping options and optimized product inventory for your region.ġ. ![]()
